Happy Halloween!

Je suis une chilipepper!

I took mom and dad out for halloween dinner tonight at Chiquitos. Unfortunately I forgot I don't have any money so I made dad take it out of my college fund. I'm not sure what dad meant when he said 'what college fund?' but the dinner was great anyways.



I finally got to take that silly stem off my head. It was getting pretty warm!

Stonehenge

Today I went to Stonehenge and stayed overnight at Bamboo Gardens Bed & Breakfast in the ancient Roman city of Bath, England.



The weather here has been unseasonably warm and allowed for a great day of sightseeing. Stonehenge is built from stones from Wales and Marlborough, England, and the overall sight is a lot larger than just the stones. The entire area is full of huge burial mounds and other 'henges', such as Woodhenge.



The Bed & Breakfast was a '5-Star' however, they did not have a cot available for me so I had to sleep in the portable crib my parents brought for me. The breakfast was amazing and, except for the price, I would highly recommend the facility.

Bath, the city, was established by the Romans when they controlled England. As the name indicates the city was built so the Romans could have their famous public baths away from Rome. Sort of a home away from home.

The big ONE!

Well it is official...I am ONE whole year old! I had a great "real" birthday. My grandma was here to visit, we went out to eat; then when we got home there was cake, ice cream and presents!



Grandpa sent me a new suit so I wore it to pick dad up from the train station after his trip to North America from Andrew's wedding. It was a pretty big event.

I have grown up a lot through this first year and learned so much. My next venture ... maybe I'll try walking????

UPDATE: I took my first steps in Bath, England, during our trip to Stonehenge before I went to bed at the Bamboo Gardens Bed & Breakfast. I still prefer to crawl though, I am still a faster crawler.

King of the Castle

This weekend I went to see two castles. Both castles were just north of Cardiff. One was named Castle Coch and the other was Caerphilly Castle. Castle Coch was a reconstruction of an old castle, a restoration that was completed in the late 19th century.


Caerphilly is the second largest castle in all of Britain, second only to Windsor Castle. Caerphilly is absolutely massive and we spent the day walking around inside its many walls. After that we stopped for a snack at a nearby cafe where I was spoon fed ice cream like the king I am. I fell asleep on the way home and woke up at Starbucks back in Swansea.
