Welcome Home Macsen

Macsen came home to hang out with us on Moday afternoon. I was trying to get dad to do a post before now but he said he was exhausted? Everyone keeps saying that Macsen is a very content baby, unlike the other one. Not sure what everyone means by that though.

Macsen Arthur Selch

Today I got a brand new brother. He was 7 lbs. 13.5 oz and 21.5 inches. I just showed up at the hospital and he was there. It must be a special delivery location.

Macsen has pretty much slept most of the first day. He seems to just eat and sleep a lot. I bet I did a lot more stuff but I don't remember back then.

Macsen is a Welsh name that means, "The Greatest". We wanted to give him a name to remind us of the time we spent in Wales. I'll try to get mom and dad to upload some more pictures in the next few days.

Dog Days Arrive Early

Today was a long hot day. It was like 87 F today and it hasn't rained for almost a week. When it's this hot I look forward to my baths to cool off. This is a picture of me in my bubble bath. I thought it was silly to put bubbles on my head. I am getting pretty good with washing my hair and just dumping water on my head. While mom dumps the water, I just cover my eyes!

Gymnastics

Ok. Tonight was my first gymnastics night. The gym was not beneficial to photography so the only picture that survived the lighting issues was the picture outside before we went in. I promise I'll give mom some camera lessons for next time. It was hot in there but really fun. We got to swing from bars, jump over mats, and bouce on a bouncy floor. Can't wait until next week!

Parade!!!

I love parades. Today my dad took me to the Flag Day parade in Appleton. Appleton has one of the largest flag day parades in the United States. There was something like 120 groups marching the parade.


I went with my dad's boss Jim and his son Nathan. It was a lot of fun. The weather was perfect but a little warm and stale after sitting in the sun for a couple hours. But we had sun screen on!


I could not believe all the fire trucks, police cars, convertibles, and military trucks that were in the parade. Even the University of Wisconsin marching band was there.

Play-doh

Here is the first time I played with play-doh. It was really fun. I liked building animals and trucks and then smashing them. The bunnies that Nana and Papa got me at Easter worked great as Play-doh storage containers. Too bad the flower egg they gave me to grow has been on life support since day one!

Touch-A-Truck

These are some of the photos from touch-a truck day (it was during the day on a weekday so mom had to handle me alone). In the background you can see all the trucks I got to check out, firetrucks, street sweepers, school buses. It was awesome! I can't wait until quarry days in the fall where they actually take you in the trucks and loaders while they are moving!


I climbed up into a street cleaner for this shot. Can you believe that they have two steering wheels. That seems a little bit silly.

Sleeper

Here's a picture of me when I feel asleep on the floor on my blanky. I like my blanket. I even tell mommy and daddy that it makes me feel better when I am sad or crying. Hopefully my baby brother finds a blanket as comfy as mine is! Speaking of which my little brother is due in 14 days. I hope he is not late because I can't wait to see him!

Fawn

The back of our property is a nature preserve with a lot of wild life. Well, ok, mostly deer and rabbits. Anyway, the other weekend we were watching out the back window and this baby deer stumbled onto our property. After walking around a little while I sat down a few feet into the woods. My uncle Trevor said he must be waiting for his mommy. My daddy took me right up within about 10 feet of the deer while he was hiding in the grass. He must have thought he was really hidden because he didn't move.

The next morning he was gone but later that day he was back. We could see his mom's shadows about 10 feet into the woods standing guard.

Hopefully he'll come back and visit again!
