Macs and Gracie

Here's Macs and Gracie in the boat watch Dad, Mom, and Uncle Trevor wakeboard. Gracie liked to lounge in the front of the boat. Macs liked riding shotgun.

Battle Scars

This week I got my first hockey injury. I was playing floor hockey at school when some kids whacked me in the chin! I got opened up like a real hockey player. Dad says I should probably have gotten stitches but I was too tough, I didn't even cry.

To balance things out I promptly came home and through a Build-A-Bear shoes at Macsen and gave him a bloody fat lip.

That's how I role.

Driveway = Raceway

Nice hat Macsers!
Macsen and my favorite thing to do is to go outside and race our buddy cars down the driveway. Mommy even got us some chalk so now we draw streets and street signs all over the driveway. We could do anything outside but we choose to just zip down the drive way and to stop before flying on to the street.

Mr Sleep

When mommy was out of town working this weekend Macs always wanted to sleep in dad's bed at night, even for his naps. Actually I think dad like to snuggle Macs too! Here is Macsen napping in daddy's bed.

Whack!

I was building in the basement with my hammer and Macs got a little too close to my backswing. After I hit him I think he went on an all night bender as the picture above seems to indicate.

Morning Sunshine

This is a typical morning in the house. Macs gets up around 5 AM or so. Then he requests to go downstairs and eat cereal. His favorites are Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lucky Charms. Contrary to popular belief the cereal does not make his hair stand up on end.

I usually don't roll out of bed until 7 AM, sometimes later. By then Macs is sometimes ready for a nap.

Slow Start

Just realized that we have not posted much for a while. I guess we're still recovering from the holidays.

Nana and Papa left last week after coming up mid-January. Grandpa, Uncle Paul, Gunnar, and Auntie were up the week after Christmas.

Lots of visitors!

I've started taking hockey lessons at the YMCA in Oshkosh. I skate twice a week and I love it. Macs likes to watch and cause trouble in the stands.

I'm also in swimming lessons and yesterday mom took Macs and me to the pool and we didn't want to leave! Dad was in Wausau getting beat up in a hockey tournement.

Little Farmer's

Here are more pictures from our visit to Little Farmer's. There is so much to do there. Check out this giant hay bale fort! You could crawl around inside of it through passageways and everything.

Here's me an Macs being sunflowers. Macs is saying 'cheese'!

Here's Macs with an apple he picked at the apple orchard there.

Here's me getting even more apples. My goal was to fit 20 lbs of apples into a 10 lbs bag.

We got to go on a hay ride too through a forest. It was really fun. Macs liked it too!

Canada Visit

Last week we made a jaunt up to Canada to visit Nana and Papa's house.

I spent a lot of time in the pool at Nana and Papa's. It was really warm compared to the lake. Hopefully next year I can start swimming on my own.

Macsen didn't come in the pool so much but liked to watch and cause trouble from the sidelines.

One day we went to the Assiniboine Park where we road on this train. It was a real coal burning train and was really fun.

After the train we went and got ice cream from Sargeant Sunday's. It was really yummy. I ended up liking the ice cream that Macsen got more than mine so I had to convince him to give me some licks.

In Assiniboine Park there are these giant sculptures that are supposed to look like ice. Me and Macs tested them out.

We also picked some flowers from Nana's garden to bring to mommy. She had a lot of work to do and couldn't come up. I can't believe the border guards didn't ask about these when we crossed the border!

Nana even let me and Macs water her garden. Here's Macs taking his watering very seriously.

Nana and Papa's house is on a golf course so there are always deer wandering up to check out the salt lick. Here is a nice buck Papa was talking about blasting in the fall. Apparently a rogue racoon sufferred a similar fate.

Canada Day

A little behind on this post but me and Macs got all dressed up for Canada Day. It was a warm up for the 4th of July and the fireworks! Macs and me are in North Dakota right now hanging out at the cabin. Dad is catching up next week then we are actually going to go to Canada!

Busy Day

Today I planted my plant that mom let me get at the store yesterday. It's a really pretty flower. Then I helped dad wash the windows outside. He had a little mishap when we moved inside to wash the windows. Who knew windows were spring loaded!

Then we waxed the truck although I mostly found the paint roller extension and played like a ninja in the yard...

The we down the street to Ryan and Stephanie's house. They had an inflatable bouncy gym. Mac and I played some serious high impact bouncing. Fortunately only minor injuries were had. Better get to bed with church tomorrow morning.

Brenden Out!

Easter Egg Hunt 2009

Me and Macs had a serious haul on Easter! The Easter bunny showed up and hid a bunch of eggs while we were eating lunch. I don't know how he did. We were literally 5 feet away! As you can see I dominated the hunt but Macs put in a good showing. Better luck next year little guy. Macs also didn't figure out you need to save your stash for a rainy day. Every egg he opened he wanted to eat. Pace yourself rookie!

Child Labor

Here's a video of me and Macs up early. Mom is out of the house so it is boyz time. When mom is gone we use the vacuum to do everything, except vacuum the floor. Usually we use it to clean the table or in this case, follow Macs around the house and vacuum up all the Cherios he drops. Quite fun, just watch out for the towels!

Macsen Concentrating Really Hard

They started building more and more houses in our neighborhood and there has been some bulldozers and payloaders working across the street. I had to explain to Macsen how cool construction machinery is so now he likes to watch the machines in action.

Strategic Washcloth

Here's a picture of Macs in his first bath. He doesn't seem to love baths as much as me. Actually I hate getting in the bath but once I am in I have a really good time.

Here's a picture of Macs out of the bath and fully clothed. He's a little happier here. He looks like he is playing the guitar! Can you see my feet in the photo?

Which is Which?

I found some photos of me from a couple years ago. Can you tell which one is me and which one is Macs? As a hint I am the cuter one I am sure! Just kidding Macs!

Answer: I (Brenden) am the one on the bottom.

Still Sleepy and Just a Little Bit Mad

Macsen continues to spend a lot of time sleeping. The only time he really gets upset now is when he is hungry... which is most of the time he is awake. Macsen also likes to go for walks just like me. Yesterday a doe and her fawn ran out from behind our house and dad and I chased him on our bike. They were a little too fast for us, at least for dad anyway. Macsen didn't come on this adventure though. Dad said it has something to do with Macsen not being able to support his own head yet? I think he would do fine but nobody listens to me anyway.

L'Hopital

Macsen was born at the Aurora Medical Center. The hospital was built in 2003 and is very, very nice. Since mom essentially refused to be photographed we can't release too many photos of the room. This picture has been released since you can't really see her too well but she still may pull it at anytime.
You can see Macs sleeping in his special hospital crib, which does not appear too cozy. Dad is on the phone using the cell phone with the charger plugged into the wall. Most people would assume that dad has been talking on the phone so much that the battery went dead. Unfortuntely, this is not the truth. Verizon wireless service is so bad in this area cell phones die in minutes as they strain to find towers. Who knew?

The bathroom facilities are also great including jacuzzi and shower and toilet (no pictured).

This is a picture of the courtyard of the hospital. Our room is on the third (top) floor and the furthest to the left, even though you can't seen in the room from here...

From God

Here's a picture of Macs sleeping on our chesterfield. He looks pretty comfortable.

This baby sure likes to sleep. I think they put sleep potions on this car seat because whenever he gets in he falls asleep right away. Funny, because this car seat used to wake me up and make me yell a lot. In fact, until I started watching videos in the car I used to yell everytime I got in the car.
