The Swing

Every night before bed we go to my room and read lots of books. One of my favorite books is a book of poems by Robert Louis Stevenson. Of course, the reason it is my favorite is not because there are lots of pictures and flaps in the book that you can lift up and see animals underneath!

Today we went to the park and I was reminded of the poem my dad always reads to me.

The Swing
by Robert Louis Stevenson

How do you like to go up in a swing?
Up in the air so blue
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside-

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown,
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

Of course there was more in the park than just swings. I rode and shook this horse for a little bit...

... then I went and pumped some serious iron with a little help from dad!
